Our History

Nelson Guest & Partners was established as a Partnership in 1992 with Stephen A. Nelson one of the founding Partners. Stephen was previously a partner at Judge and Priestley, later leaving to start Nelson Guest and Partners and building what has become one of the most successful practices in South London.

After initially becoming one of the first in the country to secure a legal aid franchise, Stephen increasingly moved towards advocacy services in addition to the practice’s expertise in litigation. After successfully being admitted as a Higher Court Advocate over twenty years ago, he went on to conduct numerous high-profile cases as well as a myriad of other complex work.

The practice went onto do a wide range of both private and legally aided criminal defence and regulatory work with the aim of assisting those in vulnerable situations and trying to provide a boutique service for the individual client.

The firm has extended its range of services to include Power of Attorney in order to further assist those who may find themselves keen to make contingency plans for either their financial or mental competency in the future, or in the alternative, just to plan for the future generally.

After working together for a period exceeding 20 years Ross Greig took over the reins at the practice thus beginning the next chapter in Nelson Guest and Partners history.

The firm to this day remains focused on protecting and defending those in vulnerable situations.
